Working downtown FW. Searched for raw oysters lunch near me. A little over a mile in "Northside" slightly off the regular path found a Mexican seafood "mariscos" spot with great parking. I like this type of place and it's the real thing when you're waitperson has English as a second language. Quickly ordered from two amazing pictures on the specialty insert in the menu. 1.Fresh half shell oysters with shrimp, jalapeños and a smoky citrus "Jefe'" sauce. 2. Seafood tower with half a dozen layers and another sauce "Patron" similar to sushi eel sauce. Yes that's a regular dinner fork in the picture. Huge 2 person project. ....... Everything and more..... both ... heaven. The menus, including the six page folded bar menu (with bottle service!) are beautiful. The meals and drinks on them are clearly the product of a team of professional chefs and mixologists. A little surprising to me for this genre. I sent this awesome find to all my seafood eating friends and said we need it ma group trip over here from Dallas. The bandstand with a DJ table suggests it may be a little loud for me in the evening so we will probably do lunch. Desert is another 2 person item. Tres leches cake. Sorry, munched out on it b4 the picture. 25% tip level service with great timing and accommodation. I had lots of questions.
The ambience included Live Mariachi for lunch, which was so nice. We had a coctel de camarón, fish taco, Plato de ceviche y pescado frito (fried fish). Everything was delicious! Despite it being busy, our waitress was attentive and checked in many times. I guess it's a chain restaurant has has other locations in Dallas as well.
The food is fantastic... however the only thing I didn't care for is that they had a DJ playing music so incredibly loud that it hurt my ears. My husband has tinnitus. I'm pretty sure that if your in this environment for an extended period of time (night after night) one can only think it could cause hearing loss. It's a shame because I really like the food. Perhaps it's only on Friday nights. If that's the case I could come back. The service was great. Everyone was very nice, but I just can't do this to my own ears, let alone my husband.
The screens-the music-the service, all rolled into one fantastic voyage. On business and this punched me and my business partners' tastebuds. Unforgivably good.
I placed an order via door dash for pick up so I could use a door dash gift card without dealing with delivery fees. I had no trouble splitting the payment with the gift card and remaining balance. I ordered the Trio Fajita La Marea. It was ready in 15 minutes or less. I was able to pull up, run in, and grab my meal. The gentleman at the host stand has my food ready to go as soon as I walked in. I was super impressed with the portion size. The pieces of steak and chicken were huge and flavorful; very well seasoned. There were peppers and onions under the meat as well. The rice and beans were great as well, no complaints. I'll be honest, I was iffy about coming to this place based on the reviews but I'm glad I did. This is the closest Mexican food I've had that tastes like something I get from East Coast Mexican restaurants.
